White Chocolate White Russian - a twist on a classic! Recipe - Rachel Cooks® (1)

With dreamy white chocolate liqueur (think Godiva or Ghirardelli, your favorite brand of chocolate) and the bittersweet coffee bean flavor of Kahlúa, sipping a white chocolate white Russian is a little like eating the best chocolates, from a glass instead of a box. Albeit, with a kick. There is a bit of alcohol involved, too.Drink responsibly!

White chocolate. White Russian. White Christmas. White chicken chili. White wine. White rice. White queso. More white wine. White chocolate blondies. I’m not trying to do away with the rainbow here. I think winter is getting to me or something. When I look out of my windows, all I see is white, white, white. Yup, we’re in the middle of a big snowstorm.

Get the fireplace going, find some cozy jazz to play, cuddle under a fuzzy blanket, and sip a dreamy, creamy sweet co*cktail. You’ll be glad you did!

About this white chocolate white Russian

This co*cktail is a variation of the classic white Russian recipe, with the addition of white chocolate liqueur. A classic white Russian isn’t stirred or shaken. It’s served on the rocks (over ice) beautifully displaying each layer.

A white chocolate white Russian is chilled by adding it to ice in a co*cktail shaker. After shaking it for thirty seconds or so, you’ll pour the co*cktail into a glass, straining out the ice. Your drink will be perfectly chilled, just like a martini. Don’t you just love chocolate martinis like this one by Preppy Kitchen? A chocolatini, anyone?

It’s easy to remember the recipe for a white chocolate white Russian: one ounce of each ingredient! How simple is that! No math necessary. Making two drinks? Simply mix up two ounces of everything. Three drinks, three ounces. If you put a cup of each ingredient in a pitcher, you’ll have enough to make eight co*cktails. Easy-peasy.

What you need

  • Vodka – Choose your favorite brand!
  • White Chocolate Liqueur — My favorite is Godiva White Chocolate Liqueur.
  • Coffee Liqueur – Kahlúa works great here!
  • Irish Cream Liqueur – We like Bailey’s.
  • Half-and-Half – Use milk if you’re looking to lighten things up or heavy cream for a truly decadent treat.
  • White Chocolate – This is used to rim the glasses. It’s optional, but it really is a glamorous touch, don’t you think?

How to make this co*cktail your own

  • Rather have a chocolate White Russian? Add chocolate liqueur or a drizzle of chocolate syrup instead of white chocolate liqueur.
  • Lighten it up or make it richer, using milk or heavy cream instead of half-and-half.
  • Serve it on the rocks instead of shaken with ice.

Make-Ahead Ideas

This is such an easy co*cktail to make. Chill your ingredients and make sure you have plenty of ice. Rim the glasses with white chocolate and keep them chilled.

If you’re serving a crowd, combine the ingredients in a large container, and shake each co*cktail separately or pour the mixture over ice in individual glasses.

Storage Tips

If the co*cktail is stored separately from the ice, it will keep in a covered container for at least a few days. Adding ice ahead of time will dilute the drink.

More Dessert Sips

A sweet, creamy dessert drink is the perfect ending to a fabulous dinner (or even a dinner that maybe wasn’t so fabulous). Try one of these dreamy sips:

  • Hot White Russian
  • Homemade Eggnog
  • Vanilla Bourbon Fizz (Bourbon Champagne co*cktail)
  • Jack Frost Mimosa – the perfect winter co*cktail!
  • Ginger Spiced Hot Chocolate — Easy Microwave Recipe!
  • Orange Hot Chocolate
